The University of Mindanao Professional Schools successfully launched its 1st Graduate School Development Program: Cross-Sectoral Practice and Research Webinar on February 15, 2025. The online session featured Dr. Cris John Bryan C. Dela Cruz, who delivered a lecture on “Strengthening Food Security and Expand Social Protection Amidst Technological Advancement in the 21st Century.”
The event, organized under the PhD in Social Development program, provided graduate students and faculty with insights into addressing pressing issues in food security and social protection while navigating the rapid changes brought about by technological innovations. Dr. Dela Cruz highlighted the need for collaborative, cross-sectoral efforts to ensure that technological advancements contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
Participants were encouraged to integrate the discussions into their research and professional practice, reinforcing the university’s commitment to research-based solutions in tackling societal challenges. The webinar also served as a platform for academic exchange, promoting UM’s vision of advancing knowledge and empowering communities through relevant and impactful scholarships.
