Dr. Eugenio S. Guhao, Chief Academic Officer and Dean of the Professional Schools at the University of Mindanao (UM), visited Sejong University in Seoul, South Korea, from July 1–7, 2025, to formalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions.
The agreement will allow qualified UM students to study in Korea under academic and cultural exchange programs. The initiative is expected to provide students with international exposure that will broaden their perspectives and strengthen their professional readiness.
“This partnership opens doors to greater opportunities, improves earning potential, and enriches our curriculum when students return and share their learnings,” Dr. Guhao said.
This strategic move supports the university’s commitment to academic excellence and cultural diversity, particularly in tourism and hospitality education. The MOU is projected to bring long-term benefits such as enhanced professional skills and deeper cultural understanding.
