About the Program
This programs is designed to fulfill the goal of providing students with a thorough grounding in advanced principles of psychology at the graduate level, and an understanding of the tools in advanced psychology suitable for building careers in business, education, research, and the government. Moreover, it provides students with an opportunity to strengthen their credentials in order to improve their chances of gaining acceptance to a Ph.D. program in psychology.
The program will also allow them to explore advanced courses in several sub fields of psychology, thereby gaining a command of the analytical tools necessary in successful careers in psychology.
Program Educational Objectives
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the major theoretical approaches, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.
- Engage in research-based psychological statistics useful in the academic and/or for preofessional practice.
- Apply psychological principles and scientific approaches to personal, social, and organizational issues.
Student Outcomes
- Demonstrate an in-depth know-how in the history, functions, reliability, validity, and standaardization process of various psychological tests such as tests for personality, intelligence, interest, and projective tests.
- Integrate technical competencies in the use of appropriate statistical tools to process data gathered for research purposes.
- Apply knowledge acquired through writing a research paper that would integrate all concepts and statistical treatment in the data analysis.
