About the Program
The program is designed specifically for teachers of language, linguistics, and related fields.
It provides a balance between theory and practice through a program of studies combining descriptive linguistics, English and Filipino language, pedagogy, and the hyphenated disciplines of linguistics. Research and independent study are emphasized.
The understanding of issues as well as creative solutions to problems is stressed. To provide solid training in research and further in-depth knowledge in Applied Linguistics, the program features intensive readings and research seminars as advanced courses.

- Demonstrate acuity in the application of linguistics for development with the continued observance of professional ethics.
- Be active in the conduct of research to improve linguistics profession.
- Practice healthy lifestyle while serving as language practicioners.
Student Outcomes
- Acquire advanced skills in the use of linguistic theories for development.
- Apply ethics in the practice of the profession by using linguistic concepts in a moral and judicious manner.
- Conduct research to improve socialinguistics, psycholinguistics, semantics, and morphology, and other disciplines allied to linguistic study.
- Learn various linguistic theories and techniques useful in advancing education communication and other fields.
- Promote and sustain a meaningful application of new knowledge to sustain academic advancement
- Challenge applicability of new knowledge by engaging in research.
- Show optimism and sound mental quality while in study through a holistic linguistic practice.
